I believe in artists inspiring artists. My work is cyclical, it is a combination of my education and experiences allowing my perspective as an artist to remain a blend of traditional and contemporary. My art is creative expressions of time, place, identity and perspective.

My name is

Babs Wheelden

I believe in artists inspiring artists. I incorporate learning with my artistic practice. My work is cyclical, it is born out of a combination of my education, experiences and those I educate. I am Chair of the Arts at Brooks School in North Andover, Massachusetts. I am a visual arts teacher and also Director of the Robert Lehman Art Center and Gallery. Working with students and other artists allows for my perspectives as an artist to grow and expand while fusing traditional and contemporary. My art is about identity, perspective, and some subtle humor.

Born in Minnesota, educated outside of Chicago, my life moved east to New England in the late 1990’s. Since moving to New England I am drawn to the landscape and environment. My work is primarily painting and photography but I also create wearable art inspired by the same muse, my view.
